Congratulations to YMCA Fylde Shark’s disability swimming club who have won an award for their ‘Services to Under-represented Groups’ at the Fylde Council Sport’s Awards.
The club which offers one to one swimming lessons to disabled children and young people have been recognised for their work with children with complex physical disabilities and social, cognitive and behavioural needs.
The club allows children to enjoy swimming lessons with a qualified swimming teacher providing both mental stimulation and improved physical mobility.
The club will now go on to represent Fylde at the Lancashire Sport’s Awards on November 22nd alongside YMCA’s Your Move’s Referral Officer Louise Rothwell who was nominated for ‘Community Project of the Year’ for her work in Fleetwood back in October.
The Lancashire Sports Awards celebrate sporting achievement and showcase best practice throughout the County and pay tribute to those who work tirelessly to support individuals or club’s week in, week out, for the love of Sport.
