YMCA Lancaster (now part of Fylde Coast YMCA) was founded in 1879 and has a proud history of providing both building based and community outreach services. Since 2010 the premises have been located in the ‘Heart of the City’ offering a wide variety of innovative targeted programmes for the youth community including:
The Y: Youth Programme
A Lottery backed scheme based at Lancaster/Fylde Coast YMCA created to address inactivity and disengagement of young people and the lack of positive alternatives. The aim is to improve the physical/emotional/social well-being of children and young people living in the local communities by providing them with alternatives to engaging in risky/anti-social behaviours.
YMCA: Body Mind Spirit Programme
The Body Mind Spirit Programme is a fully funded, Children in Need project, that has been created by the YMCA, to engage young people in progressive activities and educational development.
It is a rolling programme, which consists of group and one-to-one sessions, and participants are eligible to use the YMCA gym twice weekly. The programme is open to young people (boys and girls) between the ages of 10 -18.
EHWB: (Early Help & Wellbeing Programme) In partnership with CANW.
Providing 1-1 early intervention sessions for children of school age.
Meeting Room/Office space hire
The building is on 5 levels and has rooms/meeting areas/office space and additional facilities which are available to rent
